It's been a massive year for the Greens and fighting for the queer community, with some incredible wins on protecting our community from vilification, including queer people in the census for the first time & reforms on intersex interventions.
But we can't stop here: across the country, queer rights - particularly the right for trans youth to access health care and support - are under threat. With increasing polling for far-right fringe groups, it is more important than ever that we show up with strength and numbers to show that queer rights are non-negotiable.
What Does Volunteering Entail: Join us for an energetic 2-hour shift scooping ice cream, talking to members of the public about our LGBTIQA+ and other local campaigns. You don't need to be a political pro - we will have the details for you on the day, Greens MPs and an experienced volunteers on hand to answer any questions. It's always a lot of fun!
The day will be divided into two volunteer shifts: 11.30am-1.30pm and 1.30-3.30pm

What to Wear: Fabulous and Green, but proudly no dress code enforced. We have materials on the day to glam up your look. Just remember to dress for a warm day!
What's Next: After registering, a volunteer coordinator will be in touch to help organise your best shift times, and give a quick briefing.
Timing: The event runs from 12-9pm, and we'll set up from 11.30am. Early shift will help set up and later shiftw ill pack down.
